Jordi Picazo cursó filología inglesa en la Universidad de Barcelona, acabando con la titulación actual de Máster en Filología Inglesa en 1986, y registrado el título en 1987 en el Ministerio de Educación según equivalencia con el Plan Bolonia. Completó también el Certificado de Aptitud Pedagógica, ahora Máster en Enseñanza Secundaria, en el Instituto de Educación de la Universidad de Barcelona durante el curso 1985-86.
Colegiado como periodista en el Il. lustre Col.legi de Periodistes de Catalunya, y el Chartered Institute of Journalists de Reino Unido, el primer colegio de periodistas que hubo en el mundo también es miembro de la RNA (Religion News Association) de Estados Unidos y la International Association of Religion Journalists (IARJ). Ejerce el periodismo investigativo independiente y publica en medios internacionales online.
Desde 1986 Jordi se ha dedicado a la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera (EFL) enseñando también esta lengua como Segunda lengua (ESL) en EE. UU. A inmigrantes americanos que llevando décadas en algunos casos, estaban poniendo al día su inglés para obtener la nacionalidad estadounidense.
De 1990 a 1994 Jordi ha enseñado Lengua y Literatura españolas y Estudios sobre la Religión en Londres como profesor titulado (QTS) por el ministerio de Educación Británico, título que comporta la homologación completa y equivalente a cualquier nacional británico que haya estudiado en Reino Unido para obtener el título de profesor.
Desde 1900 a 1995 hizo estudios de doctorado, que interrumpió y dejó sin finalizar. Ello lo hizo en Birkbeck College, Universidad de Londres.
Durante los años 1992 a 94 trabajó como profesor titular, a tiempo parcial, en la famosa escuela de enseñanza secundaria Harrow School. En Harrow dio clase de Español en secundaria y fue ayudante de tutor también el curso 1993-94. Harrow, junto a Eton, es una de las escuelas de secundaria más famosas del mundo, habiendo tenido como alumnos a Churchill, el Rey Hussein de Jordania, Lord Byron, el actual Emir de Qatar, 7 primeros ministros de Inglaterra, los dos príncipes reales de hoy de Jordania, etc.
En el campo de los negocios, ha trabajado como representante de segurbanca llevando una cartera de valores de los clientes así como en inversión en valores tangibles y es fundador y CEO de una startup digital internacional de servicios lingüísticos globales para profesionales online.
Adicionalmente obtuvo en 2018 el certificado profesional de elaboración de productos editoriales multimedia, expedido por el Ministerio de Trabajo de España tras una formación teórico- práctica de 500 horas.
